Charlotte Boin’s latest single, “the night is long,” brings listeners straight to the heart of social anxiety with a magnetic blend of pop, R&B, and a dash of French chic. At first listen, it’s easy to get lost in the song – catchy and danceable yet full of emotion. Inspired by her own experiences at a party where she felt disconnected, Boin captures a universal feeling: trying to fit in but knowing you don’t. Her lyrics, a mix of English and French, layer on an extra level of intrigue as she explores how long the night can feel when experiencing these personal battles in social settings.

This track builds on her debut single, “Eyes On U,” and reinforces her knack for channeling complex emotions through fresh, sleek production. Boin fully produced “the night is long” herself, which adds a sense of intimacy and depth that really lets her personality shine. She’s clearly influenced by contemporary artists, but her sound is entirely her own; a smooth, rhythmic foundation that lets her voice ebb and flow through the melody.

Throughout the track, Boin reflects on the discomfort of not fitting in and plays with contrasting themes of glamour and anxiety, confidence, and doubt. Lyrics such as “I’m putting on my mask / But this time I’m too tired to be somebody else” drive home the rawness of her experience. The combination of bilingual lyrics and atmospheric beats lends a cinematic feel, where every verse feels like a scene unfolding in slow motion. It’s a song about pushing through the haze of insecurities.

“the night is long” solidifies Charlotte Boin’s place as a compelling voice in the pop scene. She’s an artist to pay close attention to – not only for her interesting sound but for her candid approach to real-life struggles. The self-produced aspect of this track is a bold move, underscoring her authenticity and commitment to sharing her story on her own terms. If her debut left us curious, “the night is long” leaves us fully invested, eagerly anticipating what she’ll offer next.
