Ivohé blurs the lines between electronica, hyperpop and soul on new album "Lonestar"

An artist creating her own niche in a hyper-digital world..

Based and currently thriving in Berlin, Venezuelan songwriter and producer Ivohé is a cut above the rest on her stunning new album Lonestar. Available via DMY artists, it's a project that constantly leaves the listener guessing – delving through bass music, into hyperpop and constantly shifting between english and her native tongue. She describes the project as "deeply conceptual […], dedicated with both pain and love to the cities that have given me a home; London and my hometown Berlin. It’s impossible to hate anything without loving it and I love both cities. I also deeply despise them. It’s of sorts an album of a complicated relationship with my surroundings. Cities reflect the whole spectrum of the human condition and so Lonestar is there in the midst of all this chaos and just like its surroundings going through the ups and downs the city has to hold.' – Ivohé

The album seems to draw on musical influences from all over the globe. There's elements of UK garage in the track "Sin City" – inspired by Ivohe's experiences in Berlin. "bLing bLing" however takes an element of latin bounce, fused with early jungle. It's difficult not to draw parallels with modern pop-dnb fusion artists such as PinkPanthress or Piri on the album, there's a pure strain of underground electronic music – blended with a pop-sensibility
